Technical Writer / Editor in the energy industry for over 20 years

The Technical Writer behind 6Figure TechWriter

Bonnie Bryan Denham is in the unique position of not only being a Technical Writer that's been in the energy industry for over 20 years, but she's also been responsible for hiring and preparing Technical Writers for energy industry clients for over 13 years.

Bonnie fell into Technical Writing while working as an intern at NASA's Johnson Space Center while she was studying Astrophysics and running track and cross-country at Rice University in Houston, Texas. After switching her field of study to English at the beginning of her 5th year, she graduated from Rice with a B.A. in English in 2004. After graduation, she returned to NASA for 2 more years, working full time as a contractor through SAIC before making her way to the energy industry in 2006 with J. Wilson & Associates, Inc.

It was with J. Wilson & Associates that she really honed her Technical Writing skills thanks to amazing mentors, John Wilson and Katie Farnham. Since then, she's supported teams responsible for exploration, drilling, completions, interventions, well abandonments, asset retirement, environmental remediation, knowledge management, and even cyber security. During this time, she became an Account Manager for J. Wilson & Associates before becoming their VP Operations.

Since 2006, her clients have included FMC, bp, Hess, Southwestern Energy, Nikkiso, and Chevron to name a few.

Giving back

Thanks to great mentors, I was able to reach a goal -

Bonnie was a great technical writer and a professional when I needed help with various requests. She was very positive and always exceeded my expectations. She was great at forecasting my needs before I would ask and delivered a pristine product every time. If the corporation were to ever bring back Technical Writers, I would hunt down Bonnie and her team.
